En résumé

Since October 2010, I am working as a data scientist at Orange labs in Paris area, France. My research interests are in the field of Data mining, Internet traffic analysis and forecast and green communication.

Prior to Orange labs, I spent 6 years at EURECOM Institute as research engineer in the field of Internet traffic analysis. I was involved in several projects on different topics including Web mining and users profiling, Social Video streaming, peer2peer networks, networks metrology and measurement tools.

Education:
Rennes I university: PhD in signal processing in 2005
UPMC University: Master degree in Statistics in 2001
USMBA University, Morocco: BS degree in applied mathematics in 2000

  • Orange Labs - Ingénieur R&D: modelisation et analyse statistiques

Paris 2010 - maintenant I work as data scientist in the field of mobile network:

Mobile traffic analysis: Mobile traffic characterization and forecast; impact of applications and device’s features on network dimensioning

QoE: Characterization, modeling and optimization of the quality of experience (QoE) of video service customers.

Green ICT: Power consumption modeling; Global assessment and forecast of energy consumption; Impact of online services on energy consumption for fixed and mobile networks.
  • EURECOM - Ingénieur R&D

BIOT 2005 - 2010 Measurement of video streaming traffic generated by social networks. Study of its impact on one Orange ADSL platform, as well as the quality perceived by users.

Development of statistical tools for real-time classification of IP traffic. Application to monitoring and troubleshooting of ADSL platforms, user profiling and long term prediction of traffic evolution.

Datamining of huge datasets of Internet traffic. Study of the root causes behind the performance of TCP connections

Development of tools for large scale measurements of the capacity and the available bandwidth of Internet paths. Study and comparison of the usage of broadband networks in different countries.

Study of the impact of usage on performance indicators. Application to the comparison of performance of different types of Internet access: ADSL, 3G and FTTH.

Intrusion detection: analysis of very large traces of malicious traffic collected by a honeypot network. Design of statistical methods for the detection of multi-headed-worms (worms deploying different attacks strategies.)

Crawling of peer2peer networks. Users’ profiling and mathematical modeling of such a system.

Development of soft techniques to protect multimedia content on peer-to-peer files sharing networks.

Design of distributed storage systems based on peer2peer paradigm.
  • Orange - Inénieur R&D

Paris 2001 - 2004 Analysis of large audio databases, and mathematical modeling of speach signal.

Development and tests of mathematical methods to change the speaker information inside an audio message without changing the message. The results of this work were protected by Orange through the filing of several patents.
