Galderma
- Intern in Proteomics
Courbevoie2015 - 2015As the final internship of my Master's degree, I spent 6 months at Galderma's Sophia Antipolis research center, working with the Proteomics and Metabolomics teams.
My mission was to develop a semi-quantitative method for the analysis of proteins' phosphorylations, using LC-MS. To do so, I worked on every step of a biological sample analysis, from the proteins' extraction to the MS settings, as well as on various phosphopeptides enrichment techniques.
This internship gave me the opportunity to work on an applied research subject and to acquire even more experience and autonomy.
Syngenta
- Intern, Product Characterisation Team
Guyancourt 2013 - 2014As an optionnal part of my education, I worked for a year in the analytical team of Syngenta's Bracknell research center, one of the world leading companies in agrochemicals.
Missions:
- accurate quantification of active ingredients / inerts in formulations for research & validation purposes;
- method development for the analysis of one or several active ingredients at a time;
- reverse engineering (analysis of competitor's products)
- work presentations to group, voluntary interlocutor for foreign (French) customers visits
Techniques used:
- HPLC : UV/Vis, CAD, MS detection modes
- GC : FID, MS detection modes
- NMR
- Karl-Fischer, accurate mass, GC/GC-MS, pyrolysis-MS (on a non-regular basis)
This placement gave me the chance to greatly improve all my analytical skills, but also many other chemistry aspects, as well as learning about the world of agrochemicals and its importance. It also allowed me to greatly improve my English language skills, particularly in the scientific field.
